Scout Moor High Level Reservoir

Still Frames Of Time

Over four years, I returned repeatedly to Scout Moor High Level Reservoir and the surrounding moorland of the South Pennines.
Nestled high between Rochdale and Edenfield, this quiet corner of Lancashire became a long-term practice of attention.
Walking familiar paths through the stark cold of winter and the fading light of autumn, I waited and observed subtle shifts in cloud, wind, water, and atmosphere.
Repetition and patience shape these photographs.
Rather than dramatic events, they record minor changes that emerge only through time spent without expectation.
Each image holds the memory of a specific moment, forming a quiet archive of the moor as a living, changing landscape.
This work invites a slower way of looking and photographing.
It asks viewers to pause, notice minor variations, and value what often goes unseen when nothing is demanding attention.
